Good, but needs to be updated

I use this book in a college class I teach and have found it to be helpful as a vehicle for discussion. My only complaint is that it needs to be revised. This edition was published 5 years ago. Some of the ethics codes for mental health providers that are included in the back of the book have changed. The American Psychological Association, for example, issued a new ethics code in 2003. Now would be a good time for the author to revise and update the book. Additional ethical scenarios could be included, information on the new government-mandated privacy laws, etc. Otherwise, the book may lose its usefulness as the laws and mental health field change.

I have used this book in many of my Ethics classes. I wish I could continue to use it, but as the previous reviewer has pointed out, it is now out of date. I would love to see the author publish a new edition. If she does not have time to do so, I would be glad to help her revise this valuable work book for Human Services undergrads!!

Helgesen (The Female Advantage, Doubleday, 1990) has written a readable work on corporate structures. Using the popular analogy of the web, she describes shifts in the reporting lines of organizations as diverse as Intel and the Miami Herald. A former journalist herself, Helgesen writes about web structures that were developed to meet specific needs or to save a troubled company. As defined here, the "web of inclusion" seeks to draw in all people in an organization despite salary or rank, often centering on people with power beyond their position in the company. Full of ideas about creating fluid, flexible organizations

Helgesen offers both principles and excellent, in-depth case studies of creating fluid, flexible and powerful organizations. She did a masterful job of finding organizations which illustrate differing aspects of "chaordic" organizations (a term coined by VISA founder Dee Hock). If you want to recreate an organization to be values-driven and adapt to ever-changing realities, this is a great resource. Of particular interest is a chapter towards the end on how the physical office space affects an organization. Kudos

Buy the printed copy, if you must buy this book.

I purchased the ebook copy thinking it would have a search function, like every other ebook on the market; however, it did not. I cannot understand why a company publishing computer-based learning literature does not come with a simple search function. If I had known beforehand, I would've purchased the printed copy. Do you really want to trust the content of a book from a company who fails to include very basic ebook functions.

Book never came. It's been a month. Filed for a refund with Amazon. Customer service is horrible. They never looked into the case all they kept saying was it takes 14 business days to come. Tracking information stayed the same for a month and finally realized this book was never going to come so cancelled the order.

DID NOT GET WHAT I PAID FOR!!

I am highly disappointed because I purchased this product expecting to get the CD with it to complete my course work and only got the book. This really upsets me and I wish I could speak with someone about this problem, but oh well looks like I have to give my instructor some boring excuse thanks to Amazon!!!

Excellent resource for any electrical engineer/layout designer

This is an absolutely fantastic resource for any electrical engineer, circuit designer, layout engineer, or EMC engineer. It lays out in detail and in very simple and easy to understand language how to design real products that need to pass FCC and CE regulations. It makes certain things that used to be mysterious crystal clear. Quite a comprehensive guide on all aspects of building real pcbs for EMC. A must have that belongs right alongside, "The Art of Electronics."

It's all there.

I've been working on EMC projects on and off for about 30 years. In almost every case the peculiarities of a piece of equipment introduce a significant amount of "black magic" into getting it to pass FCC requirements. What's in the book are things I've had to learn along the way as bitter lessons (sometimes), so it is especially handy in helping to plan future work with some hope for success. Read it, mark it, underline it, put tabs in it...yes, it's really that valuable.

Excellent Self Study

I have been working in the EMC area for roughly a year now, and I found myself wanting to understand the "why" of what the various Standards represent - applying a standard is one thing, but knowing why you are doing what you are creates opportunity to troubleshoot faster but also involves personal growth in a field of unique demand (aka leverage). Also - I thought it was easy to read. I have a background in antenna theory and electromagnetics, and have been performing EMC testing on equipment - which I believe made this a very straight forward read - but if you don't have that background - that's okay! There is Part 2 in the book that takes the time to explain the theory (in a straight forward manner) so that a with general interest/knowledge can also gain something from the conversations.

She currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama, with her husband, Hugh, who recently finished his pediatric residency. Cheek is the author of “His Hands, His Feet, His Heart,” a Christian blog with a focus on the journey to seeing God in all things.

One of the best books I've ever read

One of the best books I've ever read. Have read it twice and use it as a reference and devotional book too. It touched me deeply. Morgan Cheek is wise beyond her years. Give God the glory for giving us such a sincere and talented person and two precious babies.

Ooohhh Milk & Honey & more

I originally chose this book because I'm acquainted with the author ( distantly). But, oh my~ the Milk & Honey flows right from God to Morgan's pen. I've prayed for this family since birth, as many have~ but Morgan's visual writing, & un- barred emotions left me breathless as I felt I was walking & feeling all her emotions. There are many lessons here that she has done a wonderful job in showing us~oh, but Jesus!
