The Great Scottish Devil, by Starla Kaye

Annabel Henderson’s life has fallen apart yet again, worse this time than before. She lost her beloved younger brother, then her mother a year ago, and now her father. His dying words talk of his regrets; warn her of someone or something that he was unable to fully explain. Confused, grieving, she is left alone in the Scottish Highlands to deal with her father’s body and wondering how she can continue on with her family’s tinker trade traveling from village to village. She must do it, for it is the only life she knows. In her heart, though, she yearns for a man to love her and to help her with the trade. Instead her first encounter is with the famed Great Scottish Devil returning to his home of Urquhart. The Devil is more annoying and demanding than he is handsome. How dare he think to take charge of her life! Brodie Durward isn’t sure he can deal with another problem in his life. He’d barely survived being taken prisoner and seriously wounded in the final battle of the Crusades, left with the loss of his memories. Still struggling with that, he had to go to England and save his sister Maggie from being hung. All he wants now is to return to his family’s holding of the Castle Urquhart. He hopes the once familiar surroundings and being around his clan will help him completely heal and regain his memories. Then he and his men run across a young lad apparently trying to steal the valuables off a dead man. Such a travesty can’t be tolerated! But the “lad” isn’t a boy at all. The supposed bandit is a tiny sprite of a woman, far too pleasing to the eye for his comfort, and furious at having been called a thief. And then she tries to refuse to travel with him under his protection, claiming she doesn’t need it, doesn’t wish to go in that direction. He has no patience for her foolishness. She will go with him! This is a companion novel to Starla Kaye's Maggie Mine, but it can also stand alone!

One of my very favorite Books
By billie dashnaw
The Great Scottish Devil, Brodie Durwood comes home from war very seriously wounded. After he is physically healed he still is tormented with headaches and does not remember his Sister Maggie or any of his clan that he has known since childhood. Not having his memories makes him feel like a broken man, and he is so hard to deal with. He tries very hard to regain his memories and when he tries he gets severe headaches. While returning home after a visit to see his sister Maggie, he comes across a small woman with a tinkers wagon who's father had just died. Brodie felt very protective of Annabel Henderson, and told her she was going home with him, she was too young to be traveling through the country with a tinkers wagon by herself. Annabel was very strong willed and after a good spanking she is settled down enough to consent to go with him. Brodie and Annabel butt heads often, it does not take long before they love each other very much and Annabel is loved by the whole clan, and she loves everyone. Brodie being a man of his word he agreed to marry a English lady of the Kings choice, before he went to war. After his betrothed came to prepare to marry, he finds it very hard to even like the woman. She is very hard to deal with and she is constantly trying to make Brodie let Annabel leave with her tinkers wagon. Annabel loves Brodie so much she does not want to cause him any trouble. Trying to find Annabel a husband did not seem to work out like it should, he could find no one that he trusted to take care of her. He retrieved his first memory concerning Annabel, he remembered a family friend that had a daughter stolen from them when she was still an infant. He was sure Annabel was this stolen child he sent a message to this clan and he did not tell Annabel because he did not want her to get her hopes up if it turned out to be wrong. They fought very hard to avoid each other, they loved each other so much it was very hard. He fought Annabel leaving as long as he could. He had heard nothing from the message he sent and the constant battle between Annabel and his betrothed had landed both of them over his knee with spankings. It was very well written and the constant battle between the ladies and poor Brodie did not want her to leave. But as all wonderful romances the trials and errors they face it ends with a happy ending. I have read this book many times and love it every time I read it. It is one that anyone would enjoy.

Perfect balance of spanking sprinkled throughout!
By K.A. Camaro
Perfect balance of spanking intertwined with the feisty comments of Anna and the strong and brooding Brodie. You can't help but push for their union despite all odds. You actually find yourself wishing away his betrothed. One of my favorite scenes was the two of them getting spanked in the same room. It really upped the tension between the two women. Was a fantastic read, will pick up it's companion. Really loved it.

Great story
By Bollywood
If you liked Maggie Mine you will love this book which is its sequel. The hero is a strong scotsman who doesn't take any guff from anyone especially a young woman with no sense. Great plot with a bit of mystery thrown in and of course spanking.
